Mike you champion. You have played a big part in this. Thank you very much for exposing all you could to the people the truth about KB. I'm gonna send you some piss. What do you drink?

As a favour, for those of us who are out of town at the moment, like myself, and can't get any FNQ radio or TV online, if you could upload some audio/video of KB accepting he's a loser that would be fantastic. Some of us have waited 8 long years for this momentous moment. We spotted he was scum when he was still just a divisional councillor back in the early 90's. Also something of Val winning would also beaut.

Cairns now has a future we can be comfortable with.

Congratulations Val! Cairns so needed it! All the best with fixing up the mess Byrne left behind.

At long long last Cairns now has some hope of being saved from total destruction of all that makes Cairns the beautiful tropical paradise that it should be. Sustained development in keeping with the character of our wonderful heritage, the natural beauty of our hill and mountain slopes rivers and creeks, mangroves and rainforests. Developement that complements our rare natural beauties. Hopefully this time Monday this will be a reality not just the hope and dream of many Cairns residents. Pammy

Gosh, our first ever female Mayor!
After 130 years, Cairns has "grown up"!!

Oh No!!!

This is disastrous! So what can we expect from the new mayor? Zero development means zero growth. Instead of infrastructure, development and growth we can expect to get a few trees planted and a few shrubs pruned by a totally inexperienced green thumbed trainee mayor.

Ben - you are a total wanker and just like Byrne, you do not get it.

Val and many residents who voted for here are not against developement, but we want it to be built around our environment (not on top of it) and to put the livability and amenity factors for residents back into the equation for balance.

Grow up..........

ben, above, you are a tool. You are one those who KB and Unity had completely hoodwinked. Development won't stop altogether you knob, it will still go ahead, but with residents in mind, not just for the big $$$. If only tropical design and architecture were mandatory 8 years ago, how different would the place look?

If only we could bulldoze the monstrosities and start again, but alas, thats the legacy that KB has left us. Good riddance to the KB.

You will see the light in due time Ben. Val will now show how good she will be for Cairns, and will become very very popular by next time around.

I am going back to bed (6.30am) imagining that KB at this very moment is in Council Chambers clearing out his desk, shredding all those dodgy and incriminating documents and packing his suitcase for that slow boad to China.

Good Riddance and don't come back. We have had enough of your arrogance!

Perhaps now the Council staff will get a fair go and have a better culture to work under.
Go Val Go!
