Subject: Good Luck Kirsten

Hi Everyone,

You would all probably know by now that it seems Kirsten Lesina got me by 8 votes give or take a vote on preferences!

Well done Kristen, you should be very proud of your effort to unseat an incumbent who run a very strong campaign.

It is a credit to you. I sincerely wish you all the best in the future and at an age of 21, I am sure you have a long political career in front of you.

Kirsten the offer still stands if I can ever be of help in matters regarding Division 4 than please pick up the phone and just call.

To save having to do another email to staff and Councilliors I take this opportunity to thank all of you for the experience of the past 8 years and the support and professionalism you have shown towards me in your positions.

It has been a great ride and I have learned a great deal and made some life time friends. I think my family is more disappointed then me as they worked very hard during the campaign.

The fact that I have a beautiful wife and 3 great boys allows me to move on and put this disappointment behind me.

I am sure your new division 4 Councillor will do a great job and I feel I hand over the reins in good condition. Kirsten go and get them and good luck with your future as you have had earn it!

I will say good bye and wish you all the best

Sincerely Yours

Good riddance to another Byrne egomaniac.

Freebody's shooting his mouth off after the election, assuming he'd won handily, has left him running with his tail between his legs.

The best thing about this election is that two of the Byrne acolytes, Freebody and James, were dethroned dashing their clear jockeying for Byrne's job. James can now get back to "drafting" apartment ghettos, and Freebody can resume his car washing career, which is clearly floundering.

Look who's shooting his mouth off now.....(beaten like a dog by gen y) Freebody sold out of his carwashing business months ago!!! Tool, giving all a hard time but dont know facts your self.!

Good for the literacy challenged Freebody to show such grace in such a tight defeat.

Something sadly lacking in Byrne and also apparently in the spiteful readers of cairnsblog?!

Is spite and hatred an essential element in here?

Actually Anon, Freebody didn't really sell the business, he leased it to two ex-teachers from Wangetti College. And he leased it to them so he could keep the freehold for future development.

AND. . .

He's attempted to secure development approval for another car wash in Smithfield. . .

AND . . .

He's been quoted as saying that he plans to have a chain of franchised car washes in Australia.

Now go back under your bridge and stop bothering the adults.

Brownie points for PF with that email; I am still glad as hell to have Kirsten in though!

I would like to thank Paul publicly for the very gracious email. It was a hard fought campaign that went right down to the wire.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the bloggers who have written in to support me over the course of the election campaign.

Okies everyone, I agree with the "kitchen slut" above. Enough is enough. Freebody acknowledged defeat with grace and goodwill, now let's move on. There is work to be done! (Sigh....back to those dishes......).

Huh? Am I missing something here?

Freebody hasn't been "gallant" in his quick concession, he's been realistic about his future. Freebody has done little for those of us he was supposed to be serving, but he's done a lot for himself and his companies. His quick turnaround from his election night rantings stem from his realisation that, in the new council, he and Sno Bonneau would be sidelined. Freebody would no longer have the ability to push his silly projects thru council, and the new mayor wouldn't be tolerating his staff abuse and grandstanding. Freebody saw himself as the "heir apparent" to Kevin Byrne and has been busy brownnosing Byrne the last couple years.

Now there is only one sociopath left on the council. He snos who he is.

Narcissistic borderline sociopaths are everywhere today, "relieved in division four" above. They thrive and blossom because Australians don't stand up to them any more.

Re Relieved in Division Four - re the last sociopath on council who snos who he is - he's been very quiet about the $3.8 million dollars of sand that got washed off Clifton Beach week before last. No comments there, eh?

GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT. Freebody sold his car wash not leased it, my friends bought it and are working very hard and its going well.

I've got a copy of the sales proposal from Freebody. And number of experienced business people in town reviewed the numbers, and all found them "fanciful", to say the least.

There is no way this place can be profitable - you can't transplant a business model from the USA where car washes pay their employees $6/hour and millions of cars exist and expect the same business to work here.

I hear cracks are appearing in the car wash partnership.

Are they big cracks PAUL FREEBODY and one of the new owners of the carwash cafe dining at villa remano, funny that, I wonder where the other owner was.Things are getting interesting
