Maria Ball's killer sought

81-year-old Maria Ball of Freshwater, was killed in the early hours of Sunday May 24th.

A mannequin will be displayed at the intersection of Kamerunga Road and Paschendale Street at Stratford on Thursday, with Cairns detectives on site to speak to any witnesses.
Maria's injuries resulted in her death in hospital on Sunday night. She was located unconscious lying on the ground opposite the railway line in Kamerunga Road with head injuries.
A man was seen walking along the railway tracks around the time of the incident. He is described as of Aboriginal appearance, 178 to 182cms tall, short black hair with loose curls, and was wearing a dark coloured collarless long sleeve t-shirt and dark baggy jeans.
Information is also sought relating to a hat, that was located at the scene, inscribed with the words ‘United by Fate’, images of syringes and a distinctive ‘shell’ brooch.
