Northern Watch goes live

Dennis Quick, who was the executive assistant to former Cairns Mayor Kevin Byrne, has launched his new blog, Northern Watch.

I've added this to the Cairns BlogRoll, which is updated in real time, on the rtight-hand sidebar of CairnsBlog.

Dennis published Cairns Watch prior to the State election, which went into retirement after a a loyal following. The new site will feature news, analysis and opinion from various North Queensland contributors.

"Within the editorial, there will be several regular contributors as well as a wide range of guest contributors," says Dennis Quick. "Each will bring a differing perspective to topical issues, as well as political and community debate."
  • "[Northern Watch] will develop historical and contemporary snapshots of each city. In the future, we’ll further develop these sections to include other communities throughout North Queensland.

The As You Were section (to the left of page) is dedicated to the armed forces of Australia. It’s a way of recognising the long standing dedication shown by hundreds of thousands of diggers, sailors and air force personnel over the past 150 years or so."

Anyone can sign up, comment and participate, however you will have to register to post comments, something that I am considering.

Congrats to a well-designed site, and welcome back to the Cairns Blogsphere, Dennis!
