Please forgive the dodgy camera work - but there were people everywhere, including Colin Riddell, who was responsible for the "Wazza, Wazza, Wazza" chant. I asked him if he was really happy to see Warren elected, or was that just a Dugong in his pocket?
This speech was all off the cuff, and from the heart. I have to say, there's a few great quotes from the new Member for Leichhardt.

HHHAAA in between chants and drinks ( lots of ) I do recall the dugong in the pocket jibe very funny mike .
Well filmed you seem to have a flair for it , great job mike.
Has our mayor picked up the phone & congratulate Warren. The first meeting should be fun.
Paul, I'm sure it would be. Entsch is well known for his coarseness and abuse of women.
He has never hid his contempt for women, and the reasons have been widely known for some time. I do feel for Val because she has been subjected to the worst personal vilification by Mackenzie, ever experienced by anyone in this city. Of course Entsch will join with his very close friend Mackenzie in a hate rant on the Mayor. It is something Entsch enjoys.
Lastly, knowing several of the women who have left Entsch's employ over the years, and who cannot condemn him enough, I hope this time around Entsch employs an all male staff. I suspect however, he does have a "suitable" person in mind.
Welcome back, Warren!
Welcome back? What, has Warren been on an overseas taxpayer funded jaunt already Morgan James Davies?
Well done Warren, you do speak for the people.
Unfortunately for the Australian Electoral Commission, this election has proven there IS without doubt corruptive pratices involved inside their offices.
I will be calling upon the Federal Police to close this cronyistic bunch of cowboys down, pending a full investigation.
My slogan still stands True: "Don't Lie, Cheat or Steal, the government hates competition".
Lucinda feels sorry for Val for the "personal vilification" that she has said to have suffered at the hands of John Mackenzie, and then proceeds to personally vilify Warren Entsch. Classic.
JKR, tit for tat mate. Tit for tat.
But did you tit or did you tat Lucinda? Is the answer to personal vilification more personal vilification?
HAHAHAH! The funniest thing about this is the blackfellas that voted for 'Wazza' good luck with Abbot and a coalition government. Ask your NT mob about what Brough/Howard did in thier neck of the woods. Never mind wild rivers try the NT Intervetion.
There was one comment reported by Entsch in todays Compopst it was this:
"I absolutely des-pair (sic) when I drive around this town, and I see government-funded offices of elected representatives sitting in those offices and party political material hanging in their front windows, and all around them,"
"I tell you, it makes all those people who didn’t vote for them feel incredibly intimidated when they walk in there"
"It’s not an office of the party, it’s an office of the people. And I’ve always, always believed very strongly that’s the case."
Quite right and the office of Jason O'Brien is a disgrace and has always been not much more than a publically funded political billboard. It is Sreve Wettenhall who deserves some credit on this one compared to his comrades!
Funny, when Entsch'as office was on Mulgrave Road, it was as obvious as a bloody screaming red-light bordello at various times with all its political bunting.
But.....oh...one rule for me and another for.......
Do you have any photo evidence of that Thaddeus as it certainly does not sit with my recollections?
It's an interesting psychological phenomenoin that you have perceived it so in hindsight?
As stated and just form personal observation Wettenhalls office appears as a genuine open community centre. O'Briens is just a bloody disgrace!
KitchenSlut - Wettenhall's office may appear to be "a genuine open community centre", & Cathy & Alana there are lovely & helpful - it's just that Wetnoballs does absolutely nothing there except give us 'Anna, Anna, Anna' raves. Very akin to Turnour's 'do nothing but promote Rudd' policy, & look where that got him.
In fact, the rest of the Labor coterie are quite silent most of the time, as well.
I would actually predict the next State election to land about where the current Federal one has, unless there is perhaps some pickup from the North Qld Party.
It has indeed been interesting that we haven't heard ONE word from Queen Anna whilst Julia's been pounding the pavements - the spin-doctors were obviously trying to avoid the Anna Factor in Qld - except it didn't work.
