Judging the sexuality of the PM's boyfriend doesn't do much for your tolerance rating.

And Labor deserve to be judged on their track record which is one of giving gays just about every right we've achieved. Before the Goss government in Queensland legislated in the dead of night to decriminalise homosexuality we were subject to the laws supported and applied by the Liberals and Nationals which made us subject to 14 years jail for having sex with another consenting adult in private.

I doubt Penny Wong is self loathing - just a realist - Labor knows if they come out in support of gay marriage the conservatives will scream from the rooftops about the socialist destruction of Aussie values and make the election harder to win. Labor have always chanced progressing rights for gays - even ahead of public opinion - and I have no doubt they will again - but when they practically can.

As for the former, would be again member for Leichardt - for all his talk about advancing gay rights in the Howard government he achieved Sweet Fuck All - and his lasting legacy was foisting a candidate on the electorate who could barely admit her sexuality to herself - let alone the voters.

But would you have the balls to put your hand up for election Destiny - or is that part of your many personal issues?

Well said Destiny. Here in the Far North, anti-gay bashing was particularly bad. I recall right through the 1970s how police would stake out the toilet block on the Esplanade, immediately in front of where Macdonalds now stands. Men would be "caught" and their names paraded through "The Cairns Post" during the Court sessions.
It was very courageous of the Goss Government to decriminalise homosexuality in a State known for its conservatism.
It will be interesting to see what ripple effects flow through society with a right-wing "Christian" Prime Minister at the helm.

Which personal issues would they be Testi? Are you judging off my posts or making gutless anonymous digs based on some personal difference and a lack of testicular fortitude?

With Bob Brown being gay, and undoubtedly about to hold the running of the country in his hands on Saturday, it should make for an interesting Parliament.

I doubt Bob will get too excited. Even if it's a hung parliament, I suspect it will be very poorly hung.
