Mums and bubs welcomed at annual baby bash

If you've had a baby in the last year, you should wrap bub up in a fresh pair of diapers and wheel him or her into the Council.

No, it's not for another rate grab, it's the annual baby welcoming ceremony run by Cairns Regional Council to celebrate births in our region.

Families who have welcomed a baby since September 2009 are invited to take part in this special ceremony. You'll need register by Friday 17 September.

Each baby will be presented with a welcoming certificate and a native Australian tree. There'll be family entertainment, children’s activities, stalls and refreshments. To register your baby on the Council website or call 4044 3044. Please, no dribbling on the phone.
