Waitangi Day

Today, if you're a Kiwi, you can officially have it off.
Every year on February 6th, New Zealanders mark the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi that occured in 1840.
Representatives of the British Crown and over 500 Maori chiefs signed the founding document, however it wasn't untill 1934 when it was officially commemorated and only a public holiday since 1974.

Looks like our cussie bros have been using the treaty for rollie papers... The bit missing says, "Thou shalt not settle in Melbourne or smoke Bondi cigars"...

Happy Waitangi Day

I had it off on Waitangi Day and I can thoroughly recommend it to you Ozzies - if we combined our National Days we could all have it off together!
