According to the tech nerds... traditional searching took more than 9 seconds to enter a search term, and we saw many examples of searches that took 30-90 seconds to type. With Instant it save 2-5 seconds per search. What should I do with all this extra time on my hands?
"If everyone uses Google Instant globally, we estimate this will save more than 3.5 billion seconds a day. That’s 11 hours saved every second," says Google. "15 new technologies contribute to Google Instant functionality."

If the world is saving 11 hours for every second of instant searching, that means for every second we're going backwards in time nett 10 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. And then another search will take us backwards 10 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds within the original period that we're travelling back in time. By my estimate, with that compounding effect, after about 3 hours of searching we will have gone back to the big bang. However, those astute observers may note that Google came into being in 1998, so when we hit 1998, then hopefully that will put a stop to all this time travel bullshit as you can't use a search engine that hasn't been invented yet. The funny thing is that all the time travel outlined above will be kicked off by porn searches anyway.
