Another minor miner drama. 33 up, 30 down

Just days after the 33 Chilean miners were rescued, another 30 miners are trapped underground in a Chinese coal mine.

An accident this morning in the city of Yuzhou, Henan province, is another incident in the long list of China's dangerous and accident-ridden mining industry. Evidently this one was due to a gas outburst.

In 2009, 2,630 Chinese miners were killed, but many say the number is much higher than government figures, due to cover-ups.
