Crimestoppers update

Traffic crash, Aeroglen:
A 24-year-old Clifton Beach man was fortunate to escape injury after being involved in a crash on the Captain Cook Highway at Aeroglen on Saturday morning. The incident occurred shortly before 3am when the north-bound Hyundai sedan mounted the median strip and collided with a sign. The driver allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of .182% and was charged with driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of liquor. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on November 8.

Woman arrested following airport drug seizure, Cairns:
A 39-year-old Westcourt woman is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on November 3 following her arrest at the Cairns airport on Saturday night. It is alleged the woman arrived on a flight at about 11.30pm where she was met by Police and detained. A quantity of white powder and a number of tablets were seized as a result of the incident. The woman was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a dangerous drug.

Theft of motor vehicle, Cairns:
Police are investigating the theft of a Holden Commodore sedan from a Mooroobool apartment complex. The vehicle was stolen from the car park area of the Munro Terrace address overnight last Thursday. The vehicle was later located in a damaged condition at the intersection of McCoombe and Smallwood streets at Mooroobool. A digital camera; pair of binoculars and GPS equipment were stolen from the vehicle.

Burglary, Kewarra Beach:
Smithfield Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a Kewarra Beach residence early on Sunday morning. Thieves forced entry to the Mornington Street house between 4.30 and 5.30am and stole a laptop computer, a wallet and glasses.
