So goes the claim from the anti-Fluoride campaign circulating around Cairns from former City Councillor Annette Shephard and others.

"If you want to die young then do what Anna Bligh does - become a spokesperson for the chemical industry, build up your self esteem by plastering chemicals onto your face and drink
fluoride straight-up in the quest for whiter teeth," says the latest propaganda.

Infamous Cairns Post letter writer Werner Schmidlin agrees.

"To all those bird brains who suggest that I should drink rain tank water... Are you mad?" he says. "Then I get bat and bird shit which would be worse than ingesting fluoride."

The Anti-Flouride press release goes on to say that only "very desperate people stoop to such extremes in their efforts to ‘look good’. The chemical companies have succeeded in brainwashing an entire generation of woman, who inject botox to build their self esteem because they have no care for chemical wastes they add to the environment."

Botox pollutes the waterways, they claim. And I thought the sediment run-off was enough to deal with?!

But wait, there's more. They say that Anna probably loves to eat fruit and veggies from China, loaded with DDT - because "the veggies ‘look nice.’
