Well, didn't take long, I, I mean Kevin Rudd, got a reply from Nigeria to my email yesterday.
I thought it was a bit odd that, at the bottom of the original email, the word 'Verdad' was printed. This is Spanish for 'truth', good faith and sincerity. That gave me a sense of assurance not often found in emails from strangers on the other side of the planet. Also, it came from a Chinese address. Never mind, I hear that Nigeria is the world capital of get quick rich schemes, so I rested easy.
I responded to the sender saying that our country was in dire need for help at the present. "We've had awful floods and even worse fires, so $3.8 million would be warmly received and very timely," I wrote in the email.
It's exciting, because in a few days, I will have a spanking new ATM card where I can withdraw up to $5,000 a day! And to think Premier Bligh was going to come to our rescue.
Kevin Rudd is going to be so happy when I give him the news, let alone the windfall.
