The Liberal National Party has put aside its selected candidate for Griffith, Kevin Rudd's seat, as speculation rises over a UN job for the former Prime Minister.
If Rudd moved on, it would leave the currently strong Labor seat, with a 12% majority, up for the taking.
31-year-old economist, John Humphreys, was dumped by the LNP, to make way for a more committed candidate.
