Crime Stoppers update

Drug arrest, Mooroobool:
A 37-year-old Mooroobool man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on May 21 after police allegedly located over 100 cannabis seedlings at a Banksia Street residence yesterday afternoon. Police had attended the address in relation to another matter shortly before 3.00pm and allegedly located the plants in the rear patio and yard of the property. The man was charged with production and possession of a dangerous drug as well as possession of a drug utensil.

Man charged over Smithfield assault:
A 56-year-old Bungalow man was charged by Smithfield detectives yesterday following an investigation into an assault that is alleged to have occurred at Smithfield in the early hours of April 30. The man was charged with grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on May 25.

Break and enter, Manunda:
Police are investigating the break and enter of a McCormack Street house that occurred sometime between 8am and 4.30pm on Thursday. It is believed that the offenders forced entry to the rear of the residence before stealing two laptop computers.
