Toast with the Toastmaster tomorrow at the Sebel Cairns

The newly formed KickStart Toastmasters Club meets at the Sebel Cairns tomorrow morning from 6.50am to 8.30am.
According to co-ordinator Pauline Douglas, Kickstart is a programme designed for Cairns leaders.
"Good communicators are not only strong speakers but excellent listeners and compassionate evaluators," Pauline Douglas says. "Imagine how useful these skills could be in your career and personal relationships?"
The club meets twice monthly at the Sebel over a breakfast meeting format. Last year they co-ordinated the I Love Cairns speech contest as part of Festival Cairns last year. First-timers are very welcome.
Why anyone wants to stand up in front of a group of strangers before seven in the morning and sound like it's a normal hour, is beyond me.
There's some other clubs as well, if breakfast isn't your thing. You can meet the dynamic Nicky Jurd and Kaj Haffenden at Mt Sheridan Toastmasters on the south-side, or Marlin Coast on the northern beaches, where you might bump into former Cairns Post journalist and Chief of Staff, Gavin King.
You can also visit Toastmasters North and be frightened by a talking web robot. He's particularly scary and speaks very un-toastmaster like.
