Crime Stoppers update

Rail incident, North Cairns:
Police are investigating a report of a bus allegedly disregarding flashing red warning lights and entering a rail crossing whilst a train was approaching. The incident occurred shortly after 5pm on Monday, November 16 at the level rail crossing on Collins Avenue, near the intersection of Sheridan Street, North Cairns. Preliminary investigations suggest a blue bus had initially stopped at the crossing before proceeding across. No one was injured and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police on 40307000.

Break and enter at Yarrabah:
Police are investigating the break and enter of a resource centre in Yarrabah over the week-end. Thieves gained entry to the premises before smashing crockery and computer equipment and damaging an air conditioner. A quantity of frozen meat was stolen during the offence.

Girl Guide hut targeted by vandals, Manunda:
Cairns police are investigating the break and enter of the Cairns District Girl Guides hut on James Street in the early hours of Wednesday. Offenders forced entry to the complex shortly after 3am before smashing the contents of the kitchen area and removing quantities of soft drink and bottled water. Foodstuffs were also thrown around inside the building and several dozen glass louvers were smashed.

A Blue bus eh? Now I wonder....who on earth runs a fleet of blue buses in Cairns....HMMMMMM.
