Crime Stoppers update

Robbery, Cairns:
Police charged a 13-year-old Edmonton girl in relation to a robbery in City Place, Cairns on Friday evening. Around 7pm a 43-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by a group of juveniles and had her handbag stolen. The girl has been dealt with under the Juvenile Justice Act. Police investigations continue.

Serious assault, Cairns:
A 37-year-old Edmonton man has been charged with four counts of serious assault after an incident at a Lizard Street residence on Friday evening. The man has sustained numerous cuts allegedly as a result of smashing a number of glass doors and windows at the residence prior to police attending. When police arrived at the scene he allegedly made threats against police and tried to resist arrest. Police managed to restrain the man. The man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Woman charged after running into police officer, Earlville:
A 29-year-old Manoora woman is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on November 16 after allegedly running into a police officer in Earlville Street on Friday. The officer was parked when the woman approached on her bicycle and collided with him around 4.15pm. The woman was charged with riding her bicycle whilst under the influence of liquor or a drug; two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and obstructing police.

Wilful damage offender arrested, Cairns City:
Police charged a 21-year-old Victorian man after an incident in the city early this morning. Police observed the man allegedly running along Grafton Street and jumping on the roof of a parked motor vehicle, causing significant panel damage. The man was charged with wilful damage and committing a public nuisance offence. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later today.

Break and enter offences, Cairns area:
Police are investigating a number of break and enter offences committed in the Cairns area in recent days. Thieves entered a Gouldian Street residence at Bayview Heights overnight and stole a laptop computer, a socket set and a small sum of money. A Kidman Street residence, at Whiterock was also targeted on the same night after thieves entered the residence and stole two laptop computers and a global positioning system. In a separate incident on Sunday, thieves forced entry to a Wilmot Street residence at Edmonton and stole two mobile phones, a wallet, and a red 2004 Ford Falcon utility bearing Queensland registration 436-KBO. Graffiti vandals attack vehicles parked in streets, Kewarra Beach:
Police are investigating several wilful damage offences at Kewarra Beach yesterday morning. A total of 12 motor vehicles were targeted by graffiti vandals who sprayed markings on the vehicles with white paint.
