Crime Stoppers update

Robbery offenders arrested, Cairns:
Detectives from the Cairns CIB have arrested a 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old youth in relation to a robbery offence that occurred in Lyons Street near the DFO shopping centre on Sunday October 25. A 28-year-old Cairns man was assaulted and robbed at the location whilst he walking home at about 5.00am. The Mount Sheridan man and the Manoora youth were charged with robbery with violence whilst in company and are due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates and Children’s Courts on November 3

Graffiti offenders apprehended over playground damage:
Detectives from the Cairns Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 17-year-old Badu Island man with willful damage after a graffiti attack at an Esplanade playground in the early hours of Monday morning. Playground equipment was spray painted as a result of the incident. The offender is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this month. A 15-year-old and two 16-year-old youths were also interviewed in relation to the matter and have been dealt with under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.

Break and enter of business, Parramatta Park:
Police are investigating the break and enter of a Bunda Street Auto electrical business which occurred overnight on Sunday. Thieves forced access to the rear of the building before removing a quantity of hand tools.
