Fake ALP leaflets

You know it's a desperate election campaign tactic when the Liberals start to do this kind of abhorrent stuff.
A group of campaign Libs have been caught red-handed delivering fake letters about the Bali bombers and Labor's association with them.
The leaflet (pictured right) was delivered over the last few nights around Sydney.
The culprits were linked to retiring Lindsay MP Jackie Kelly, and party member Jeff Egan.
At two days before votes are cast, this will put another knife in the back of the Liberals defence of their re-election and question the choice that many swinging voters have.
Kelly said on ABC this morning she laughed when she saw the document. "It was a parody of Labor's foreign spokesperson Robert McClelland's comments about the death penalty for the Bali bombers."
"I think its a send-up, but it obviously hasn't worked. If you read it you would be laughing.
Julian Morrow from ABC's Chaser team is encouraging Kelly to apply for a job with the comedy team.

The leaflets appear to be from a fake Muslim group 'Islamic Australia Federation', and backs Kevin Rudd because Labor supported forgiveness for "our Muslim brothers who have been unjustly sentenced to death for the Bali bombings".
Howard has said the leaflets were completely unacceptable.
LEAFLET:
In the upcoming federal election we strongly support the ALP as our preferred party to govern this country and urge all other Muslims to do the same.
And what does Ala Akba mean? It's probably a poor attempt to sign off with 'God is Great - Allah Akbar'.
The distribution and printing is a clear breach of the Electoral Act and the Australian Electoral Commission is investigating a formal complaint by the ALP.

It is "Allaha Akhbar" (God is great)

Howard has found a classic diversion from the recent announcement by the Commonwealth Bank that it intends to raise its own mortgage interest rates.
The other banks have also indicated they, too, intend to follow suit.

Congrats to the Ugly Liberals. All day the news has been led by this dirty trick, and John Howard has had to shelve his own campaign to answer the unanswerable.

I've been saying labor by 4 all month. I'll stick to that, but it just seems so much more comfortable now.

Poor old Charlie. After spending all that money on snazzy new posters too.

The blood-bath starting among Liberals on Saturdee Night will be something to see.

Trying to make a joke out of the Bali bombings is as crass and sick as trying to mock Gallipolli.

Goes to show the ARSEOLES are so bloody out of touch with Aussies, they don't even understand Aussie humour.

John originally thought Ala Akba was a kebab shop in western Sydney. A little bit of racist fear never hurts in helping to win an election. It worked last time.
