RIP Sir Howard
I remember Howard with another great Kiwi entertainer, Billy T James. Here they are together... reading the news as the Two Brownies, back in 1990.
Those were the days...
He was best known for singing How Great Thou Art, in English and Maori. It's incredible and shows the beauty of the native New Zealand language.
Imagine if we had the same respect for our native indigenous culture. Imagine.

I was also sad to hear of the passing of Sir Howard.
More proof that Kiwis and Aussies are just second-class talents. Some guy named Chris Lloyd sings at the casino once in a while, called "Cairns answer to Frank Sinatra". Now this Kiwi Howard Morrison. How is copying American superstars the basis for any artistic career?
Sir Howard, did not "copy" American superstars, he had a stage presence similar to Frank Sinatra. Maori have an instinctive sound of their own. They sing with passion and from the soul, not unlike the passion the Welsh have when it comes to singing. Maori produce plenty of talent, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa springs to mind.As an aside they made "Ten Guitars there own".
