General Debate starts today!

Today I'm starting a regular posting that I'll call 'General Debate'.
This is in response to those that want to raise or discuss issues that I've not posted a story on, and of course, I can't please everyone.
I'm conscious that many people who follow this Blog, have pet subjects that they'd like to vent, and this way, you can do that.
My mate David at KiwiBlog has been offering a General Debate posting to his readers for sometime now.
There's no reason to cloud an existing discussion thread with irrelevant matters by introducing subjects entirely unrelated to the main topic.
Via the 'General Debate, that I will post weekly, several subjects can be raised under the one thread, therefore doesn't have to follow the normal netiquette of a single subject discussion.
Usual Posting Comments Policy rules apply, and anything defamatory will of course not be allowed, just good rigours debate, where you can air anything. Just avoid fluoride ;-)

Sorry to be off topic but I have just read this article from one of the few media outlets I have any respect for have published this article from two well known Cairns medical specialists regarding the pressure that has been brought to bear on legal medical abortion in Queensland.

Well worth a read, click this link.

Thanks Monty for directing us to that news item. I sent a letter off to "The Cairns Post" some weeks ago outlining some of the medical reasons why women terminate pregnancies. The "Cairns Post" declined to publish it. This whole issue is one of "back to the 70s" and "back to the 80s". Around and around we go without anything being resolved.
Surely the Queensland Government CAN DO something? Otherwise this issue will just keep on coming up over and over.

Aw, come on Mike. Can't we be allowed to defame Compost journalsts? Surely they are a special case and most worthy of it??

You get to liken them to a "bucket of shit", so why should all the rest of us miss out on the fun?

Apparently there are car stickers going around BrisVegas saying 'Is that true, or did you read it in the Courier Mail?'
Now, there is an opening for an enterprising entrepreneur with something similar about the local Murdoch Compost. I know I'd buy a dozen!

I wouldn't mind commenting in your blog Mike, but there's no way I'm gonna use Internet Explorer to do so, as FireFox doesn't show the word verification. Here's hoping you get it fixed, IE takes the fun out of the net.
