Civil Union becomes law in Queensland

Labor's Civil Partnerships law, opposed and threatened with repeal by the LNP, and Bob Katter believes is the path to polygamy, comes into law today.

Today the State of Queensland joins with most western countries in welcoming in civil unions for all couples.

Gay couples in Cairns might like to take advantage of this opportunity for civil partnerships while there's time.

How about a trip to the inner reef afterwards - maybe taking in a spot of fishing? Enjoy it while you can before King & CanDo dredge Trinity Inlet.

Did you hear CanDo's response when asked about Environmental Impact Assessment? He said: "Where there's a will, there's a way". It's the Royal CanDo version of "don't you worry about that!"

But, CanDo, we do worry. And you should worry about getting into Parliament. Unlike you, Ashgrove's Kate Jones would make a fine Premier - and she's odds on to hold her seat while you lose your shirt.

Syd Walker proclaims Kate Jones "odds on" to win Ashgrove. Sounds like the kiss of death.
