Thanks for some useful reminders!
I have always liked the list of life lessons from one of my favourite philosophers Billy Connolly which overlaps in many ways with the wisdoms posted here!
http://humour.200ok.com.au/billy_wisdom.html
Although in the Connolly list perhaps we should change 'play the banjo' to 'play the eukelele'
Honestly, screw the ukelele!!! Cairns ratepayers don't care about this trivial instrument nor its potential festivals. What we care about are the massive rates rises that we have had to endure to keep this financially inept council afloat.....not that any of us want Byrne back !!!!
Hi Mike,
Liked your list of rules. Here's a pertinent ode:
Al Gore’s Lament
One thin December Moon
A floated hypothesis disappears
In scrambled shame.
Peer-reviews vaporise
Fever settles on the CRU
AGW’s bones dissolve
Snow glides in from the Rockies
Old New York is frozen
A hard rain comes quickly
Then dirt is drenched.
Seedlings breathe the CO2
For life’s celebration.
Disgraced scientists
take their leave, unmourned
Brokers check their derivatives
The carbon market shrivels and shrinks.
The death knell of Carbon is wrung.
The broker cries
The Market dies
They are the fools
