  13. Heck we bought bananas at the Farmers market in Earlville for $4.00 per Kg yesterday. Any one who pays those prices can buy our groceries for us because you've got more money than we have.

Q: Why do bananas wear suntan lotion? A: Because they peel!

  17. can i grow banana at my back yard???

  18. We don't import because we don't want their diseases. I'd rather go without for one season than have inferior fruit bringing god knows what pests with them. Most countries that import bananas don't grow them. We do and we want to protect our industry. It's not the growers charging these ridiculous prices!

I bought my week's supply on Sunday at Rusty's for $1.99 a kilo. Also Keitt mangoes for $3.99 a kilo. Just ignore the supermarkets' overpriced offerings. They aren't the be all and end all.

  21. I saw them in Coles at Smithfield for $11.95.

  22. Aren't I glad that no-one I live with eats them :-)

  23. So if you buy the cheap milk what is the change in price of a banana smoothie?

The comments here on just a few cheap banana prices at markets are correct ..... i got a few too at excellent value ..... but dont reflect average market values which just couldnt sustain supply at those prices.

An astute shopper this week can have a banana smoothie as cheap as ever.

  24. Wonder how long before the handfull f do-gooders complain and force the government to import the crap for overseas. This alone will do more harm to the industry then any cyclone.

Why buy from the ripppff-marts when you can go for a drive and buy them from the farmer direct :-)

Far better quality - Far cheaper and you know the farmer is getting more then what the rip-off markets gave them

    Remember
Vote [1] Sexisam - cause none of the others are worth voting for!
