Walkman, dead at 31. 1979 - 2010

Makes you feel old.

Sony has ceased making the cassette Walkman. It was the first portable music player made in 1979. Around 200 million have been sold.

This week marks the ninth anniversary of the iPod.

The floppy disk was "retired" in March.
