Captain Cook Highway closed near Port Douglas

The Captain Cook Highway, 10kms south of the Port Douglas turnoff, is closed due to a three vehicle traffic incident.

Five people have been injured in the crash, most with minor injuries. Tow trucks are now clearing the scene and Queensland ambulance staff are at the accident.

The crash is near the Tresize Road intersection on the main Captain Cook Highway, about 10kms south of the Port Douglas turn. The main road is closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed until 11.30am.
