Cairns ALP all fluttering over Twitter

You have to give the local branch of the Australian Labor Party top marks for actively using the social networking tool, Twitter.

Here's some of their recent "tweets" including a few angry snaps at CairnsBlog!

Gavin King, along with Cairns' web Queen Nicky Jurd, and even Carlos Computers, out themselves as lovers of all things Labor.

However, with only 63 followers, they have a long way to go yet. Mind you, I can't find any Twitter activity from the local LNP squad.

Can't say I blame local Labor supporters given that all the LNP has to offer us up here is a tired old has-been bringing nothing new to the table.

I think TWITter and our local representative go hand in hand. Warren Entsch actually communiactes one on one if need be. Jim Turnour picks and chooses who he wants to meet with.

  3. I ain't no Labor lover. I just follow them for the perspective from their party and for a good old argument from time to time.

  4. Concerned of Bluewater Harbour, I'm sure you and Where's Warren could spend a lot of time one on one-ing about each other's footwear. His gator skin boots and your dinky white shoes.

  6. thinker...I doubt copy-catting the Cairns Regional Council on their Cultural Precinct is any sign of intelligence. Entsch's proposals were calculated to both inflame and divide the constituency and he has achieved that. Entsch isn't aware of it no doubt, but his proposals have also revealed an appalling, uneducated igorance of what constitutes a "Cultural Centre." Turnour, on the other hand, does appear to have a modicum of education (he is tertiary educated) and does understand what Entsch has missed out in his "proposals".
The pity of it all is of course, that if Entsch is elected, then the whole of Cairns and surrounding district will miss out on this because Entsch intrinsically does not understand it.
But more about this later...I am intrigued, and amused...how many people in Cairns will indeed wake up to what it is????

  7. Aaah Thaddeus! I admire anyone who keeps pretending that political campaigns are rational, and that campaign promises mean something.

What I took away from the "Grate Debate" was the very large number of people waiting for 21/8 and their opportunity to take a baseball bat to Jim Turncoat, waste of space.

Turncoat has failed to achieve over 3 years, and has actively alienated too many locals. He is gone.

As for your blither about "tertiary educated", I'm amazed at the snobbery of modern Labor flunkies. When I hear the word culture, I reach for my iced VoVos.

  8. What's the point in using "Twitter"? I can't understand the messages; they are too short and don't tell me anything.

  10. Bryan Law again demonstrates how much of a conscience-free zone from Warrensville he really is. Get a grip mate, baseball bats ? Methinks you are longing for another stink in the clink.

Speaking of "Twits". I see rugnut is back on air, sneering and scoffing at the local police force.

  12. Tom, old stick! If you want to parody someone's name to put them down, it's probably better to keep the same meter and number of syllables. e.g. Julia KillHard.

So next time you just want to respond to an issue with a personal attack, try Lyin' Bore (or some such).

    Banker!

Interestin' poll by cairnsblog. Jim falls over the line by the hair of his chinny chin chin with a Greens and an LNP Senator breathin down his back. Now is everyone happy?

  14. Nocturnal, the Cairns Blog poll is statisically accurate; Jim Turncoat is going to win in Leichhardt; the ALP stands for social justice; Tony Abbott is a great big boogey-man.

    Seek counselling immediately.

  15. See where the twits are continuing with internet "filter"..
have a read of this...here's the future of the internet, and it's got nothing to do with Australian political parties.

  19. we noticed your stooge....I didn't hear anything about a "sorry" from the audience, mate. You must have either very hairy ears or selective hearing. All I heard was the fracas of cat-calls, grunts and screams coming from Entsch's supporters. I was sitting there having an epiphany of sorts, seeing the reasons why so many people have left the local LNP in disgust. A bunch of baboons would have been better behaved mate.

Thaddeus THAT WAS BECAUSE WE ALL KNEW WHO WAS THE STOOGE ! And to put up another sham protester like jim did with lnp campaign launch "fake unionists" must be the actions of a desperate party.
It makes him look sillier than he is.

    ReplyDelete
  21. we knew your stooge...I haven't a clue what you're talking about mate. Nor do I know anything about "fake unionists". Either a person supports the idea of a union or they don't. Nothing fake about that.

    ReplyDelete
  22. No thaddearse a "unionist" is someone is a current financial member of a union .Unlike jim , Not an office lackey of the local labor members offices and while we are at it I saw two of your labor numbnuts put up gillard signs on the bruce highway near mount sheridan and knocking down entsch signs .How desperate and childish is that?

  23. What the rest of australia thinks.

If by some happenstance Turnour keeps his own job on August 21, Gillard could do worse than giving him a promotion. Parliamentary secretary for ventriloquism, perhaps.

Tony Wright is Age national affairs editor

  24. Hey eye-witness, Jim Turnour told me that a "real" unionist was someone who worked in a politician's office, solicited union members' money so they could stay on the public teat, and did what middle class factional bosses told them to.

That means the whole labor campaign this year is a union campaign, and if union members don't like it they should just get fucked.

    Vote KillHard!
