Kiwi PM tries to save dying friend

New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark attempted to resuscitate a friend during a climbing trip in the South Island mountains, near Lake Tekapo late today.

59 year old Gotttlieb Otto Braun-Elwert was a professional mountain guide and a close friend of the Clark's. He suffered a heart attack.

New Zealand is under the grip of an atrocious winter season this year.
