112 million blogs

NPR has an interesting feature on the evolution of blogs.

Gaius Julius Caesar is lauded as a historical precursor to the military blog. It was unprecedented to have detailed war diaries published back in Rome, and it was part of why he became so popular with the Roman people, outside the Senate.
