There seems to be moves afoot in some media, or rather, in George W. Shrub's camp, to intone the 'history will judge me competent' mantra re his Presidency, citing that even the evil & psychotic Richard Nixon's efforts have been judged more gently from a distance. Bullcrap, I say. Both Shrub & Nixon were nasty bastards from the word 'go', although Nixon it would appear did have the odd brain cell to play with, in stark contrast to Shrub.
Hell, Georgie-Boy did not even have a passport when he became President - sad, but true. Maintain the rage, I say.
On an upbeat note, SBS News reported last night, completely straightfaced, that there were numbers of people lobbing shoes at the White House gates in the past couple of days, just to add a final note to the demise of Shrub. [Now that would be a feed to find, Mr. Mike] I hope Al-Jazeera broadcasts that one - it might cut a tad of terrorism in the bud.
A new day, a new President, & what potential... apart from being a good look, he's intelligent, can dance, can string whole sentences together, & even looks like he engages in a tad of horizontal tango with the lovely Ms. Michelle.
I would recommend those interested to read Barack's "Dreams from My Father", an autobiography which he wrote about 1995, way ahead of the Presidential thingie. Even if it wasn't Barack, it's a good read. Gave me a lot of hope the guy knows what he's talking about.
Now if we can only convince Kevin Rudd to loosen up & get down & funky, & bring some fun back into Oz politics, we'd have a double whammy. Perhaps Obama can show Kevin some cool moves & grooves. Oz politics has turned a bit into constant Bureauspeak - so boring. However, much better than the Man of Steel (puuulllleeaase).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
