She ignored what Howard Dean had already discovered in 2004: the Internet is a potent "viral" funding tool. It's also a matchless way to energise a vast grassroots voting base. "Did they sleep through the 2003-04 election cycle?" asked one of Howard Dean's advisers.

As I have predicted this idea of Stephen Conroy will be the very thing that comes back to bite the Labor Party big time. Already millions of Oz internet users hate his garters.

Throughout history men have tried to force their Religious will on the population. The Catholic Church sent the world back a thousand years when they banned the works of Galileo as heresy.

When the Labor Government bring in a filtering system, how easy will it be for smarter than thee hackers to insert the names Labor Party, Stephen Conroy, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard etc. into the Ethernet and filter out their pronouncements and newscasts as pornographic or inappropriate political material at the appropriate time.? (Just before the next election I would say.)

Even as I write Stephen Conroy is not getting the emails everyone else gets because of the rigmarole one has to go through in his own filtering system. - Just shows how brilliant he - isn't.

Happy Christmas 2008
Rob Williams
Lake Placid

In regards to "a tractor to do the job of a car".....

In regards to "a tractor to do the job of a car"...as Co-Founder of My Internet Doorman, dedicated to educating teens and families about The True Dangers of Internet Porn, I often tag porn as a huge elephant, so on the surface a tractor is not such a bad idea-- the problem, however, is that one man's swim suit model or erotic underwear display is another's portal to porn; I have found that internet filtering is as unique as the user/family/organization that desires and needs to block porn. This is why our fully managed filter service is such a success with those who are serious about blocking out what they consider inappropriate and having free access to what they feel is appropriate.
