Caption contest: Jim, Anthony and Val

THREE LABORTEERS Leichhardt MP Jim Turnour with Minister for Regional Development and Local Government Anthony Albanese, and Cairns Regional Council Mayor Val Schier, inspecting the site for the planned Cairns Cultural centre at Trinity Wharf.

Here it is. Your ol favourite is back: the CairnsBlog caption contest! One rule, be funny, and not abusive. As always, I'll start the ball rolling.
  1. "So if you look this way, you'll see where I think Kevin Byrne's memorial should go. It's where the seagulls and the fruit bats do their business."
  2. "Well Jim, I can assure you that Warren can drink you under the table any day, just we'd need a rather large table."
  3. "Well Minister, that over there, is what an Aboriginal looks like. They really are a nice bunch of people. Go over and say sorry. I dare you..."
  4. "Val, here's an idea, let's have a whole lot of 'Vals' in the Festival parade. I'll even do it if I win on Saturday 21st!"
  5. "Well, we once had a hillslope over there, then along came Margaret Cochrane, Sno Bonneau, Alan Blake and their developer mates and removed it completely. Pricks."
  6. ...."your turn"....

Val: Building this cultural centre will replace the jobs that were going to be created by the Capital Globe tower just down there until KB's mate and our developer saviour got bumped off in Islamabad!

Jim: I feel ripped off because I bought the latest Women's Weekly thinking it was Cate Blanchett on the cover!

Albanese: Ok you guys the strategy now is that we all just lean right for the camera like synchronised swimmers until the election is over?

Now Jim, you might have to pay close attention here, it's difficult material for you. The stuff in the foreground is land. Behind it is water. We build on the land, and it costs money. When your colleagues ask if they should give us money to build, nod your head up and down like you do as human wallpaper for Julia. Remember Julia? Good doggie.

"that's where we bury all the election promises that come from politicians".
