My first Wellington experience (Flying that is)was in an NAC Viscount, hitting an air pocket landing from the Cook Strait end.
But the one nobody would have got on tape was the RNZAF Boeing 727 when the Captain announced, "if we can't SEE the runway when we go past Shelly Bay, we're going back to Ohakea".
